Canvassing
Canvassing is a central element to any grassroots-driven campaign which relies heavily on a ground game of community volunteers that go door-to-door to speak to voters directly. This dynamic interaction of authentic person-to-person contact is a very effective way to generate awareness of candidates, the platform on which they are running, messaging, and to mobilize voters, encourage people to vote.
Volunteering to canvass on a political campaign is one of the most resourceful and impactful ways to help the candidates win. All canvassing events are “launched” from one location. When volunteering to canvass, you will get all the information, tools, and campaign literature you will need as well as meeting the candidates and other volunteers.
If you are a first time canvasser, the campaign will give you a brief training on MiniVan, a canvassing app, that gives access to the households you will contact and have a script for you to deliver. Campaign literature will also be given for you to hand out to voters after speaking to them or to leave at their doors if not home. If you not comfortable canvassing on your own, bring a friend along or ask the campaign to pair you up with a canvassing buddy.
Writing postcards
Volunteering to write postcards for the campaign entails providing postcards, stamps, and your time to write a brief message to voters about our candidates, the campaign, and to encourage them to vote. Name and address lists will be provided by the campaign as well as a short script to be written.
Host a meet and greet
Hosting a Meet and Greet involves inviting your friends, family, and neighbors to your home for a causal, social event where they have an opportunity to meet our candidates and to have one-on-one conversations to address issues that matter most to them.
If you’re not up for hosting, you can simply attend one!
Assist with Yard Signs
Show you support our candidates by displaying a campaign sign in your yard. Please let the campaign know you are interested and we will get you a sign!
Get out to vote!
The Primary Election is on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Register to vote, update your voter registration, request and absentee or mail-in ballot, and check your polling place! May 5, 2025, is the last day to register to vote before the Primary Election!
